Krishi Vikas Kendra (KVK) website (krishivikaskendra.co.in) claims that it is a project which is initiated for the enhancement of Indian farmers and transformation of rural India. It is a platform to provide excellent quality of services and products which will help develop the agriculture sector in the country. The implementing agency of Krishi Vikas Kendra (KVK) is Biotechnology Development Association of India (BDAI) as claimed by the portal. Krishi Vikas Kendra (KVK) also showing the logos of ICAR, IARI, etc. on its website, which is misleading. This portal is creating confusion among farmers as its name is very similar to Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is a district level institution working in field of agriculture for farmers. It is 100 per cent funded by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi and working under the administrative control of Agricultural Universities, ICAR Institutes, State Department of Agriculture and NGOs.
It is hereby informed to all the concerned especially farmers that Krishi Vikas Kendra (KVK) is neither directly nor indirectly linked/associated with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and ICAR, New Delhi. Therefore, it is requested to the famers that they should be careful in engaging with Krishi Vikas Kendra for any service as claimed on portal (krishivikaskendra.co.in).
